Biomedical engineers combine biology, medicine and engineering, using their advanced knowledge to solve medical and health-related problems.

As a biomedical engineer, your tasks might include:

  • Designing machines for surgery and scanning, such as those used for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRIs);
  • Researching and developing prosthetic limbs and evaluating the use of artificial organs;
  • Designing devices and procedures to help diagnose diseases accurately.

Your work would:

  • Address health issues and develop devices to compensate body dysfunctions.
