Environmental Geriatrician

Environmental Geriatrician

Environmental geriatricians, who are generally primary care physicians, provide advice on how the environment affects the quality of life of the elderly, ensuring that town plans, infrastructure, etc. are designed with the needs of our increasingly ageing population in mind.

As an environmental geriatrician, your projects could include:

  • Advising on how to design interiors and products to optimise the health, functioning and well-being of older adults;
  • Providing tips and tools to enhance the home safety of those living with specific conditions, i.e. creating an ‘Alzheimer’s-friendly home’.

Your work would improve the quality of life and independence of older adults.
