Hydrologists can be broadly divided into ‘surface-water hydrologists’, who concentrate on the monitoring, management and protection of surface water, and hydrogeologists, who study the distribution, flow and quality of ground water.

As a hydrologist or hydrogeologist, you could find yourself:

  • Collecting and interpreting data on the various stages of the water cycle;
  • Planning and developing sustainable ways of using water resources;
  • Promoting water conservation by communicating on predicted trends and impacts on water flow, quality and shortages;
  • Finding sustainable water supplies.

Your work would  allow us to better manage and protect our water resources.
