Zoologist

Zoologist

Zoologists study animals, researching the origin and development of species, as well as their habits, behaviour, habitat, life-cycle and population structures.

As a zoologist, your job would allow you to:

  • Work as a curator, overseeing the care and distribution of animals in a zoo or nature reserve;
  • Track the migration of certain species, such as whales, to monitor population sizes;
  • Conduct observations of animals in their natural habitat;
  • Collect and analyse biological data to determine the impact that human activities have on local animal populations.

Your work would help to preserve species and maintain healthy populations, both in the wild and in captivity.
